Furniture, made considered.

About Cocoon Modern

Furniture, made considered.

We design and build modern furniture for people who want their rooms to feel quieter. Pieces that reward second looks, not first impressions. Made-to-order, one at a time.

We didn't set out to disrupt furniture. We set out to do it well.

Cocoon Modern — On Beginnings

The Beginning

Born from a search that came up empty.

We started Cocoon Modern because we couldn't find a sofa we wanted to keep. Not the disposable ones, not the ones priced like heirlooms but built like rentals, not the ones that looked good in a photograph and disappointed in person.

So we built our own. Then a few more for friends. Then this.

The Craft

Made one piece at a time.

Every Cocoon Modern piece is built to order. No warehouse full of last season's mistakes, no markdowns to clear what didn't sell. When you place an order, a frame is cut, a fabric is dyed, a piece is upholstered — for you, in the configuration you chose.

It takes longer. We think that's the right trade.

The Design

Quiet, not loud.

Our forms are intentionally calm. We avoid trends, ornament, and anything that feels like it's trying. The result is furniture that recedes into a room rather than competing with it — and stays interesting for a long time.

Designed in Scandinavia. Built to live with.

What we believe

Four principles, every piece.

01

Considered Design

Forms that don't shout. Lines that quiet a room. Proportions tested in real homes, not on a moodboard.

02

Honest Craft

Built to order in our partner workshops. No overstock, no markdowns, no shortcuts in the parts you can't see.

03

Material Truth

Belgian Linen, performance polyester, cotton-viscose velvet. Real materials, named honestly, sourced from the places that do them best.

04

Built to Last

Frames are warranted for life. Cushions for ten years. We design every joint to outlive the trend that named the room it's in.
